Response Group Service cannot start if you assign a certificate that contains a SAN list, and the last name on the list is not the pool FQDN to Office Communications Server 2007 R2

SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario:
  • The certificate assigned to the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 or to the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Web Components Server contains a subject alternate names (SAN) list.
  • The last name that appears on the SAN list is not the pool FQDN.
In this scenario, the Response Group Service cannot start.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, apply the following updates:
  • 967830 Description of the update package for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Web Components: March 2009
  • 967829 Description of the update package for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Response Group Service: March 2009
  • 968280 Description of the update package for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Administration Tools: March 2009
