You install more than 100 video transitions or video effects to be used by Windows Movie Maker on a computer that is running Windows XP. When you try to run Windows Movie Maker, the application crashes.
This problem occurs because the maximum number of video transitions or video effects that Windows Movie Maker can handle is set to 100. This results in a crash in the qedit.dll module of Windows Movie Maker.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
After you install this hotfix, the maximum number of video transitions or video effects is raised to 200.
