Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) does not recognize Multimedia Card (MMC) memory cards that are version 3.0 or a later version.
Windows Vista SP2 supports MMC 1.0 and 2.0 cards. Windows Vista SP2 does not support MMC cards that are version 3.0 or a later version.
Note If you have a MMC version 3.0 card, it may work if Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is installed. When you connect this MMC card to a computer that is running Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 (SP2), the MMC card is not enumerated. Therefore, it does not work. Additionally, a yellow exclamation mark (!) may appear next to the MMC device in Device Manager.
To open Device Manager, click Start, type device manager in the Start Search box, and then click Device Manager in the Programs list.
How to verify the version of the MMC card that you are using
See the documentation that was included with your MMC card to verify the version number. If the documentation does not contain this information, please contact the manufacturer of the MMC to verify the version number. The documentation that was included with your MMC card should have the manufacturer's contact information.
