DirectPlay Voice is a game peer-to-peer chat technology introduced with DirectX 8 for use with DirectPlay.

An application which requires DirectPlay Voice will not execute on Windows Vista.  DirectPlay Voice was removed from Windows Vista due to security concerns.  Windows Vista does include DirectPlay but not DirectPlay Voice.
