Consider the following scenario in System Center Configuration Manager 2007:
A package is created on a central site.
This package is distributed to distribution points (DP) from child sites.
The package is updated and the change is replicated to the DP from child sites.
The SMS_EXECUTIVE service is shut down on a distribution point when it is decompressed a package.
In this scenario, the package is not updated with the latest version on this DP. Clients do not receive the latest package because of this problem.
Distribution Manager stops decompressing a package when the SMS_EXECUTIVE service is shut down. However, it does not try to decompress the package again when the SMS_EXECUTIVE service is started. This issue causes the package to be out of date.
