Consider the following scenario:
Many programs are included in a package in System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
A task sequence references multiple programs in this package.
You use the Task Sequence Media Wizard to create CD or DVD images for this task sequence.
In this scenario, the image size is larger than necessary. If the package in Configuration Manager has an image size that is larger than necessary, this may cause System Center Configuration Manager 2007 to create more CD or DVD images than what is expected.
This problem occurs because the Task Sequence Media Wizard does not calculate the required space correctly. Every time that a program is accessed, the Task Sequence Media Wizard adds the size of the package to the image size even if the package has already been included.
Large programs or many programs can cause the generation of a disk that has wasted space.
