FIX: Site users are not identified as registered users in the RegisteredUser table after you import the Web server log into the Commerce Server 2007 data warehouse if you use the CommerceDataWarehouseAuthenticationModule class in your Web site
In Commerce Server 2007, you import the Web server log file into the Commerce Server data warehouse. The Web server log file contains the cookie field that identifies registered site users. When a registered user logs on to a Web site, an MSCSAuth cookie is inserted in the cookie field. When you import the Web server log file into the data warehouse, the cookie field identifies registered users in the RegisteredUser table.
Consider the following scenario:
You create a Commerce Server Web site based on the Commerce Server 2007 Starter Site or you use the CommerceDataWarehouseAuthenticationModule class in your site.
You run the Data Transformation Services (DTS) task to import the Web server log into the data warehouse.
In this scenario, you find that registered users are not identified. Instead, they are displayed as anonymous users in the data warehouse.
This problem occurs because the CommerceDataWarehouseAuthenticationModule class does not insert an MSCSAuth cookie in the cookie field of the Web server log. Instead, it appends the MSCSAuth cookie in the uniform resource identifier (URI) query field. Therefore, users cannot be identified correctly when you import the Web server log into the Commerce Server data warehouse.
