You have a home server that is running Windows Home Server Power Pack 2, and you would like to recover your home server with the a server recovery DVD. Consider the following scenario:
You cannot start the Windows Home Server Console from the home server or from the remote desktop.
Clients cannot connect to the home server to access shared files.
Windows Home Server has a feature to allow you to recover your home server. A bug was discovered that related to how Windows Server Power Pack 2 manages the server recovery. After the server recovery, a check on the share folders fails and causes the issues that are described in the "Symptoms" section.
To prevent these issues, you must install this update on your home server before you try to recover Windows Home Server.

PrerequisitesTo apply this update, you must have Windows Home Server Power Pack 2 installed on your home server as well as update 963032.
Restart requirementYou have to restart your home server after you apply this update.
Hotfix replacement informationThis update does not replace any other previously released hotfixes.
File informationThe English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
