Symptom
On a system running Microsoft Windows XP SP3, you may see a blank screen instead of the splash screen while resuming the system from hibernation.
Cause
This is a known issue in Microsoft Windows XP SP3.
Resolution
Allow the system to continue to resume from hibernation as normal.  The splash screen is not displayed, but the system is still resuming from hibernation.
