A compliance XML output file is not generated by a compliance server in Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Group Chat Server

This article applies to the following product:
- Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Group Chat Server
No compliance XML output file is generated by a compliance server in Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Group Chat Server. This occurs because a JOIN event and a PART event are not processed unless there are corresponding CHAT events in the same time frame. Therefore, no compliance XML output file is generated unless there is chat activity.
To fix this problem, apply the following update:
969819 Update for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Group Chat Server and Group Chat Compliance Servers: July 2009
After you apply this update, the compliance server tries to record and report every JOIN or PART event. This strategy generates more accurate and complete information. However, some reports are also generated that contain only the changes to the participant list for a chat room.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
