Description of the Word 2007 hotfix package (Word-x-none.msp, Wordconv-x-none.msp): August 25, 2009

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
This article describes the Microsoft Office Word 2007 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated August 25, 2009.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you open a Word 2007 document from a SharePoint library with read-only permission, the fields inside the document cannot be updated.

  • In Word 2007, you change the format for a single number in a multilevel list in the Define New Multilevel list dialog box. When you apply the changes, the number restarts at 1.

  • You have a form that includes a signature in your personal forms library. When you load the form to create a new form in Outlook 2007, the signature is not added to the new form.

  • When the Document Inspector feature removes hidden text in a Word 2007 document, all style separators are removed, and the table of contents (TOC) may be broken.

  • In Outlook 2007, the order of right-to-left text in an e-mail message may be displayed incorrectly. This problem occurs when the e-mail message is generated by certain programs.

  • In the Japanese version of Word 2007, you save a compared document in the .docx format. When you open the document in the Final view, ruby text is lost.

  • In Word 2007, the compare function does not revise the information in a Text Box control, or in a footnote or endnote that is in a table.

  • When you run the Compare function in Word 2007 by clicking the user interface (UI), changes are shown in a certain order. When you run the Compare function by running Visual Basic automation code, the order in which changes are shown is reversed.

  • When you use the "Insert as Hyperlink" feature to attach a document from a SharePoint site to an e-mail message, you receive the following error message:
This file could not be found.
  • In Word 2007, when you compare two documents that contain tables with different structures, the paragraph styles of the cells are lost. For example, the paragraph style is changed from sub title to title.

  • When you print a document in the German version of Word 2007, parts of the automatically hyphenated words disappear on the printout. This problem is more likely to occur when the following conditions are true:
    • The hyphenated word has more than three syllables.
    • The paragraph in which the word is located flows around a graphic or table.
  • When you type Danish text or Norwegian text that contains a number which is followed by a period in Word 2007, the first character after the period is capitalized automatically. For example, "den 16. juni" is changed to "den 16. Juni" automatically.

  • You save a Word 2007 document which contains a hyperlink in the .pdf format. When you click the hyperlink in the .pdf file, you are directed to the top of the page that contains the hyperlink destination.

  • In Word 2007, the DocumentBeforeClose event is triggered incorrectly when print preview is closed by closing the Word window. After this happens, the event will no longer be triggered when you close a document or Word.
