FIX: Some XML documentation comments are not displayed in the Object Browser in Visual Studio 2008 SP1

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
When you load an assembly into the Object Browser in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 (SP1), some comments from the XML documentation are not displayed. You may experience the problem in the following scenario:
  • You open the Object Browser window in the Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 (SP1) IDE.
  • You expand the Browse list and select Edit Custom Component Set. Then, you select an assembly to load in the Edit Custom Component Set dialog box.
  • You click an object in the navigation pane, and then select to view a method.
In this scenario, you find that the XML documentation comments for the method are not displayed on the lower-right pane as expected.

Note This problem does not occur when you use Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.
