This article describes the Microsoft Office Word 2003 issue that is fixed in the hotfix package that is dated October 27, 2009.

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • On a computer that is running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, you have a Microsoft Office Word 2003 document that contains a drop-down form field. When you print the document, the content of the drop-down field is printed in a large font size, and the letters are squeezed together. This problem occurs when all of the following conditions are true:
    • The document is formatted as right-to-left.
    • The drop-down form field is formatted as left-to-right.
    • The drop-down form field contains left-to-right text.
    • You print the document for the first time in the current Word session.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
