Symptom

The Connect to the Internet Wizard on Small Business Server 2008 may fail with the following error message:

Windows SBS did not properly configure your email. To correct this, re-run this wizard.
Cause
The issue can be caused if the receive connector in Exchange 2007 named "Default <servername>" has been deleted or disabled.
Resolution

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

Create a new receive connector by the name "Default <servername>". To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open Exchange Management Console.
  2. Navigate to Server Management - Hub Transport - Receive Connector.
  3. Right Click and chose "New Receive Connector".
  4. In the Name field enter "Default <servername>" (Make sure that we have a space between Default and hostname).
  5. Choose "Internal" in "Select the intended use for this Receive Connector".
  6. Under "Remote Network Settings", left the default setting and click next.
  7. Click New to create a new receive connector.

After we have created a new Receive Connector, re-run the Connect to Internet Wizard.
