FIX: When you save the type library in Transaction Integration Designer in Host Integration Server 2009, the COMTI type library that is created in Host Integration Server 2000 is not updated and the Remote Environment property is blank
Consider the following scenario in a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009 environment:
You have a COMTI type library that was created by using Microsoft SNA Server 4.0 or was created by using Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000.
You open the COMTI type library in Transaction Integrator (TI) Designer.
You save the COMTI type library by using Save or Save As.
In this scenario, the COMTI type library is saved successfully. However, the Remote Environment property is blank, and TI Designer does not update the COMTI type library.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
To reproduce this problem, follow these steps:
Open TI Designer.
Open a type library that was created by using COMTI in SNA Server 4.0, or that was created by using Host Integration Server 2000 in TI Designer.
Select the top level of the type library.
In the properties of the type library, make sure that the Remote Environment property is blank.
Save the type library.

886300 How to migrate type libraries from SNA Server 4.0 Service Pack 4 and Host Integration Server 2000 Service Pack 1 to Host Integration Server 2004
The steps that are described in Knowledge Base (KB) article 886300 also work when you migrate older type libraries to Host Integration Server 2006. However, these steps fail in Host Integration Server 2009 because of the problem described in the "Symptoms" section of this article. After you apply the hotfix that is described in this article, you can then use the steps that are described in KB 886300 to upgrade type libraries from SNA Server 4.0 or Host Integration Server 2000 to work in Host Integration Server 2009.
