Description of the Office Outlook 2007 hotfix package (Outlook-x-none.msp): December 15, 2009

This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated December 15, 2009.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • In Office Outlook 2007, you change the encoding of a message body to fix the character corruption in a message. When you are prompted with a dialog box that shows the following information, you click Yes.
The properties of the message <Message Title> have been changed.Do you want to save changes to this message?
Then, when you open that message again, the character corruption still occurs.
  • You install a COM add-in for Office Outlook 2007. Then, you use a Group Policy object (GPO) to configure that add-in as trusted for Office Outlook. In this scenario, you are prompted unexpectedly to provide access permission for that add-in when you try to use it.
  • You start Office Outlook 2007 with the /ResetFolderNames parameter to change the name of the Outlook Calendar folder. Then, you try to perform a mail merge in Office Word 2007. You select some Office Outlook 2007 contacts as the recipients. In this case, you receive the following error message:
This data source contains no visible tables
  • Office Outlook 2007 with Service Pack 2 (SP2) may crash intermittently when you try to view multiple calendars at the same time.
  • When you try to synchronize the mailbox in Office Outlook 2007 with Microsoft Exchange Server, many log files are generated. These log files unexpectedly consume the disk space of Microsoft Exchange Server. However, you are not prompted with an error message about this issue in Office Outlook 2007.
  • In Office Outlook 2007, when you open more than 95 additional mailboxes, you cannot send e-mail messages.
  • Office Outlook 2007 consumes high CPU usage when you run an external add-in for Office Outlook 2007. This problem occurs when that add-in calls the SendMessageTimeout function to obtain the caption, icon and text information from the Office Outlook windows.
  • In Office Outlook 2007 with SP2, you open a meeting from a public calendar folder. Then, that meeting is unexpectedly added to your personal calendar folder.
  • You run Office Outlook 2007 in a non-DST time zone, such as GMT+09:00. You receive an e-mail message at 15:00 (GMT+09:00). When you save that message to an IMAP folder, the received time of that message unexpectedly changes to 15:00 (GMT).
  • 977231 A canceled meeting is displayed unexpectedly in a manager's calendar in Office Outlook 2007
