Description of the Office Outlook 2007 hotfix package (Outlook-x-none.msp): February 23, 2010

This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated February 23, 2010.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you open a custom form that contains a Microsoft Office Outlook ListBox control.
    • The ListBox control is bound to a multivalue field.
    • You select multiple items in the ListBox control.
In this scenario, you cannot de-select an item without clicking the item two times.

Note This issue does not occur with the Microsoft Forms 2.0 ListBox control that is typically used on legacy Outlook custom forms.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • There is a public folder in a user's Office Outlook 2007 mailbox.
    • There is an administrator of a server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. The administrator manages the user's Office Outlook 2007 mailbox.
    • The administrator makes a copy of the public folder on another server that is running Exchange Server 2007.
In this scenario, the user's read and unread information is lost in the copy of the public folder.
  • You add a domain to the Safe Senders and Recipients list in Office Outlook 2007. However, after that, the e-mail messages from that domain are unexpectedly sent to the Junk E-Mail folder.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • Two delegates (delegate 1 and delegate 2) are assigned to perform tasks on behalf of a manager.
    • Delegate 1 receives and then declines a meeting request for the manager.
In this scenario, when delegate 2 opens the meeting request, nothing indicates that delegate 1 already declined the meeting request.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You are running Office Outlook 2007 in Online mode.
    • You perform an advanced search in an additional mailbox.
In this scenario, the advanced search takes a long time.

For example, when you perform an advanced search in an additional mailbox that contains about 4,000 items, it takes 10 minutes to receive the results.

Note This problem occurs after you install the hotfix package that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 959642 or a later hotfix package.
  • Office Outlook 2007 crashes when it is configured to use the MAPISendMail function to send certain e-mail messages.
  • If you run an add-in to add a new view to Office Outlook 2007 when Office Outlook 2007 is starting, the current view becomes corrupted.
  • In Office Outlook 2007, you cannot open an .eml file that is converted from a MAPI message.
  • In Office Outlook 2007, you open an additional mailbox that contains a shared folder. When you try to open a custom form from the shared folder, you receive the following error message:
The form you selected cannot be displayed. The object could not be found.
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
    • You are running Office Outlook 2007 in Cached mode.
    • The Download shared folders (excludes mail folders) option is selected in Office Outlook 2007.
  • The last modifiers are incorrect for items in the contact list of a SharePoint Web site. This problem occurs after the synchronization from Office Outlook 2007 to the contact list fails.
  • In Office Outlook 2007, when you open an S/MIME message that contains extended characters, the extended characters are not displayed correctly. Specifically, the characters may be shown as boxes.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You configure Office Outlook 2007 to use Internet Message Access Protocol version 4rev1 (IMAP4).

Note In this case, you view only the headers of your e-mail messages in Office Outlook 2007. Then, the message is downloaded.
    • You enable the Reading pane in Office Outlook 2007.
    • There is a folder that contains many unread messages in Office Outlook 2007.
In this scenario, when you try to look through the e-mail messages by selecting and then reading them individually in that folder, Office Outlook 2007 crashes.
  • 979433 Description of the Office Outlook 2007 hotfix package (Outlook-x-none.msp): February 23, 2010
  • 979818 When you try to send an encrypted e-mail message in Office Outlook 2007, you are prompted for your smart card
  • 980029 "Microsoft Office Outlook had problems encrypting this message" error message when you send an encrypted e-mail message in Office Outlook 2007
