Error message when you run Operations Manager 2007 R2: "The SSL certificate is signed by an unknown certificate authority"

SYMPTOMS
When you run Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2, you may receive the following error message:
The server certificate on the destination computer (ComputerName.domain.local:1270) has the following errors: The SSL certificate is signed by an unknown certificate authority.
CAUSE
This problem may occur because the certificate is not trusted.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, follow one of these steps:
  • Run the Discovery Wizard to re-sign the certificate for low security.
  • Manually sign the certificate according to the security guide for high security.
