Web Parts are left-aligned on a Publishing Site page for a language that is read from right to left

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
You view a Publishing Site page in Microsoft SharePoint Server or SharePoint Foundation. When you view the Web Parts section of the Publishing Site page in a language that is read from right to left, such as Arabic, the text is not right-aligned, it is left-aligned.
This issue occurs because the Publishing Site page uses cascading style sheets (.css) that were not localized for the language.
To resolve this issue, you must edit each .css file that is used by the Publishing Site pages in the SharePoint site. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Microsoft SharePoint Designer.
  2. Open the first .css file in the following folder in the SharePoint site:
  3. Search for the following entry in the file:
    <style type="text/css">	.v4master #s4-leftpanel { ; }	.v4master .s4-ca { margin-left: 0px; }</style>
  4. Change the entry ".v4master .s4-ca { margin-left: 0px; }" to the following:
    .v4master .s4-ca { margin-right: 0px; }
  5. Save the .css file.
  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for all the remaining .css files in the folder that is noted in step 2.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
