FIX: An unexpected line break is appended to a text box in an SSRS 2008 report after you export the report to Word

Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 fix release.
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario:
  • You add a text box to a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (SSRS 2008) report.
  • You input HTML-formatted text into this text box.
  • This HTML-formatted text uses more than one font.
  • You export the report to a Microsoft Word file.
In this scenario, an unexpected line break is appended to the text box.

Note You can select the Show all formatting marks option in Word to find the unexpected link break.
RESOLUTION

Cumulative update information

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 hotfixes are created for specific SQL Server service packs. You must apply a SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1 hotfix to an installation of SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1. By default, any hotfix that is provided in a SQL Server service pack is included in the next SQL Server service pack.
