FIX: You receive System.OutOfMemory exceptions or Visual Studio 2008 stops responding when you use BizTalk Server 2009 maps

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
Consider the following scenario:
  • You open a BizTalk project in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 on a computer that is running BizTalk Server 2009.
  • The BizTalk project contains a BizTalk map. The source schema or destination schema of the map is complex. For example, the schema contains deeply nested structures.
  • You try to validate the map or to build the BizTalk project.
In this scenario, Visual Studio 2008 experiences high memory usage. After some time, you receive System.OutOfMemory exceptions, or Visual Studio 2008 stops responding.
This problem occurs because of an error in the Microsoft.biztalk.mapper.compiler.dll file in BizTalk Mapper.
