When you try to install Microsoft FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint by using the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard (the Psconfig.exe command-line tool), the installation process is not completed successfully. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
When you view the installation log, you find an entry that resembles the following:
date / time Error Utility.WriteException - Exception - : Exception - System.Exception: An error has occurred while binding ports using command: netsh.exe http add urlacl url=http://+:13271/ user=user_name ---> Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Extended.Installer.Mahasen.Common.Utility.ExecutorException: Command returned non-zero! at Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Extended.Installer.Mahasen.Common.Utility.Executor.CheckReturnCode(Int32 returnCode) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Extended.Installer.Mahasen.Common.Utility.Executor.ExecuteCommand(String command, String arguments, String workingDirectory, Int32 timeout, ILogWriter logWriter) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Extended.Installer.Mahasen.Common.Utility.Executor.ExecuteCommand(String command, Int32 timeout, ILogWriter logWriter) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Extended.Installer.Mahasen.CentralAdmin.ServiceConfigurations.ServiceConfiguration.BindPort(String url, String user, ILogWriter logWriter)
This issue may occur when you try to rerun the installation process by using the Psconfig.exe command-line tool after an initial installation of FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint was not completed successfully.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
On the FAST node, create the following command, and then save this document as "Cleanup_FAST_default_ports.cmd."
Log on as a FAST user to the server that is running FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint.
Start Windows PowerShell as an elevated user. To do this, right-click Windows PowerShell, and then click Run as administrator.
Run the Cleanup_FAST_default_ports.cmd file that you created in step 1.
