You cannot access files that are shared on a Windows Embedded CE 6.0-based device from a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows 7
This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
Some files are shared on a Windows Embedded CE 6.0-based device. The device supports the file server functionality. Additionally, the device uses the NTLM authentication protocol. In this case, you cannot access the shared files from a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows 7. This problem occurs when the computer uses the default LAN Manager authentication level "Send NTLMv2 response only" in the network security settings.
This problem occurs because the NTLM APIs that are used for server-side authentication in Windows Embedded CE 6.0 do not completely comply with all the NTLMv2 requirements.
