Consider the following scenario:
Visio Services will display only Web Drawings (*.vdw) in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise Edition. It is not designed to display any other format Visio Drawings (.vsd/.vss/.vst/.vdx/.vsx/.vtx).
To work around this issue, save the diagram as a Web Drawing (*.vdw).
To do this, follow these steps:
For a Visio drawing to be viewable a web browser, the file must be published to a document library in the Web Drawing (*.vdw) format. Only the Professional and Premium editions of Visio 2010 have the option to save in the Web Drawing (*.vdw) format. The term "published" in this context means to save as or upload to a document library. The term "render" in this context means to convert a Visio file into a format that is viewable in SharePoint with the Visio Graphics Service started.
The only Visio file type that will have the "View in Web Browser" Open menu option in a Document Library is Web Drawing (*.vdw). All other Visio file types will only have the "Edit in Microsoft Visio" option.
