The "Select from Outlook Contacts" option is unavailable when you create a mail merge in Word 2010 from Office Starter 2010

You have Microsoft Office Starter 2010 installed. When you create a mail merge in Microsoft Word 2010, the Select from Outlook Contacts option is unavailable.
This issue occurs because Microsoft Outlook 2010 is not included in Office Starter 2010.
To work around this issue, use one of the following available options when you create the mail merge:
  • Type New List
  • Use Existing List
