FIX: The export process never finishes when you export a report that has nested tablix items in SSRS 2008 or in SSRS 2008 R2 to the extensions that are supported by the hard page-break renderers

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release.
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You have a report that has nested tablix items in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 (SSRS 2008) or in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 R2 (SSRS 2008 R2). The inner tablix item is split into more than one vertical pages. When you export the report to the extensions that are supported by the hard page-break renderers in this scenario, the process never finishes. In this situation, you receive the "Report is being generated" message or the "Please wait" message. Or, a new blank page is opened.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because of an infinite loop.
