Getting started with Safe in Teams

In Safe, you can store your valuable and sensitive information across any of your devices.

To get started with Safe in Teams for your personal life:

  1. Select More  More options button , then select the Safe tab.

  2. If you want to manage your own master key, select the Opt out of saving my recovery information on my Microsoft account checkbox. If you want Microsoft to manage your master key, leave the box unchecked. Learn more about Safe encryption.

  3. Select Get Started.

    • If you selected to manage your own master key, record your master key and keep it in a secure location. You will need this key to gain access to all of your encrypted data.

    • You can tap and hold and select Copy to copy your master key to your device clipboard.

    • You can also select the Share Teams Android share icon  icon to share your master key.

  4. When you’ve recorded your master key, select Continue.

  5. Create a four-digit PIN to unlock your safe.

  6. Confirm your PIN by entering it again.

Your Safe is now set up. You can start adding items

    Note: After you set up your PIN, your iOS device might prompt you to allow Safe to use FaceID (if supported on your device). If you choose to allow FaceID, it will work in place of your PIN.

Your Safe is now set up. You can start adding items
