This article contains information about the OneDrive sync app (onedrive.exe) when used for OneDrive for work or school in Microsoft 365 Business or Microsoft 365 Apps for business (when people sign in with a work or school account).
Note: To determine which OneDrive sync client you're using, see Which OneDrive app?
OneDrive for work or school lets people contact Microsoft directly from inside the application. People generate support tickets for OneDrive for work or school by selecting Get Help (which opens the Contact support dialog box).
Disable Get Help/Send Feedback
As an administrator, you may want to disable these support features to prevent people in your organization from contacting Microsoft directly. (This will disable both Get Help and Send feedback.) To do this, follow the steps below:
Important: Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.
In Registry Editor, locate the following subkey:
Right-click OneDrive, select New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type DisableReportProblemDialog for the name.
Right-click the new registry key, type 1 for Value data, and then click OK.
Additionally, a SharePoint in Microsoft 365 tenant administrator can run the following cmdlet to enable or disable the "report a problem" feature for any clients connecting to that tenant.
Set-SPOTenantSyncClientRestriction -DisableReportProblemDialog $true
Set-SPOTenantSyncClientRestriction -DisableReportProblemDialog $false
Note: Disabling Send feedback and Get help only disables the capability for OneDrive for work or school to report an issue to Microsoft. This doesn't prevent people from selecting Send feedback if they use the sync app when signed in with a personal account.
