IsArray Function

Returns a Boolean value indicating whether a variable is an array.

IsArray ( varname )

The required varnameargument is an identifier specifying a variable.

IsArray returns True if the variable is an array; otherwise, it returns False. IsArray is especially useful with variants containing arrays.

Note: Examples that follow demonstrate the use of this function in a Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) module. For more information about working with VBA, select Developer Reference in the drop-down list next to Search and enter one or more terms in the search box.

This example uses the IsArray function to check if a variable is an array.

' Declare array variables.
Dim MyArray(1 To 5) As Integer, YourArray, MyCheck
YourArray = Array(1, 2, 3) ' Use Array function.
MyCheck = IsArray(MyArray) ' Returns True.
MyCheck = IsArray(YourArray) ' Returns True.
