You can live copy/paste existing Loop components from other M365 applications onto a whiteboard and edit them inline with changes saved across instances in real-time. (For more details about Loop components, read First things to know about Loop components

This functionality is available to users signed in with a work or school account on Whiteboard web, Teams, Windows, and Surface Devices. (On the iOS and Android mobile applications, users can view and edit Loop components but cannot paste them).

Environments other than commercial will be available when Loop components are supported in additional environments.

To live copy/paste a Loop component into a whiteboard

  • Insert a new Loop component in Teams chat, Outlook, or other M365 application,  or select an existing Loop component.

  • Select Copy link in the upper right corner of the component.

  • Open the whiteboard in which you want to paste the component.

  • Paste using the paste option in the right-click context menu (long-press if using touch) or keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + V).

Note: Currently only Loop components that are shared with everyone in your organization can be pasted into Whiteboard. If you try to paste a Loop component that is shared with only Specific People, you will be prompted to share it with everyone in your organization.

More to come

Live copy/paste support for Loop components in Whiteboard is just the beginning of Whiteboard & Loop’s journey together. We are also working towards adding support for creating new Loop tables & task lists inside Whiteboard itself!
