Nothing happens when I press play in Immersive Reader for OneNote

Solution 1: Check your volume

If words are highlighted, but you don’t hear any sound:

  1. Exit Immersive Reader.

  2. Turn up the volume on your device or speakers.

  3. Reopen Immersive Reader and select Play.

If there’s still no sound, try the next solution.

Solution 2: In Windows, check that speakers or headphones are turned on

  1. Open the Sound Control Panel from your task bar.

  2. Make sure at least one device has a green checkmark.

  3. If there are no devices with a green checkmark, right-click on a device’s icon and select Enable.

  4. Close and reopen OneNote, then open Immersive Reader.

  5. Select Play.

Solution 3: Make sure your language is supported in text-to-speech features

Not all languages are supported in Immersive Reader and other text-to-speech tools. Check here to see which features are available in your language
