Sign in, sign up, sign out and add a new account

To sign up for Teams for your personal life, all you need is a Microsoft account. If you are using Skype, OneDrive, Outlook.com, or Xbox Live, then you already have one. If not, it’s easy to create a new Microsoft account

Sign in to Teams for the first time with an existing Microsoft account 

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Enter your email address or phone number and select Sign in.

  3. Enter your password and select Sign in again.

Note: If you don't have a phone number associated with your Microsoft account already, you will be asked to enter one.   

Sign up for Teams if you don’t have a Microsoft account 

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Select Sign up for free.

  3. Select Personal.

  4. Follow the instructions to create your personal Microsoft account.

Sign in to Teams with another account 

If you want to create multiple Teams accounts, you will need a unique phone number for each one. 

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Enter your phone number or email address and select Sign in
     

    Note: You might get asked to add a phone number to your Microsoft account. Learn more about why you’re being asked for your phone number.

  3. Enter your password and select Sign in again.

Add another account from within your Teams app 

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Select the More  More button  icon.

  3. Select Add account. You can add a personal account, a free business account (Teams Free), or a work account. Just enter your sign in and follow the instructions.

Switch between your accounts in Teams 

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Select the More  More button  icon.

  3. Under Accounts and Orgs, select the account you would like to switch to.

Sign out of Teams 

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Select the More  More button  icon.

  3. Select the Settings Settings button  icon.

  4. Select Sign out Teams sign out icon , then select Sign out again to confirm.
