  1. Customize Visual Basic. Here's how to do it:

    1. In Visual Basic, on the Add-Ins menu, click Add-In Manager.

    2. In the Add-In Manager dialog box, select Visio UML Add-In. For Load Behavior, select Loaded/Unloaded and Load On Startup, and then click OK. The Visio UML Add-In toolbar appears.

Tip: When the Visio UML Add-In creates the toolbar, it also adds commands to the Tools menu. You can locate the commands by clicking Visio UML Solution on the Tools menu.

  2. Open the project that contains the source code you want to reverse engineer.

  3. In Visual Basic, click the Reverse Engineer UML Model toolbar button UML Reverse Engineer button imageon the Visio UML Add-In toolbar.

  4. The Visio UML Model Diagram template opens with a blank static structure diagram drawing page and a tree view in the UML Model Explorer, populated with icons that reflect the class definitions in the source code.

  5. In the UML model diagram, drag icons from the tree view onto the drawing page to create a static structure diagram that represents a view of the model.
