From the Project Online Project Center, click Resources in the left side menu. Select the resource or resources whose availability information you want to view by selecting the check box next to their name and then in the Resources tab, click Capacity Planning in the Navigate section.

This article describes an issue that occurs when you print documents in Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. A hotfix is available to resolve this issue. The hotfix has prerequisites.

The resource pool centralizes resource information, such as the resource name, calendar used, resource units, and cost rate tables. Each project that uses resources from the resource pool is called a sharer file.

One way to manually add or update resources in Project Online or Project Server is by importing them through Project Professional, with an external data file.

Removing a resource assignment will remove the resource's obligations to work on a particular tasks or set of tasks, but the resource can still exist in the project. Tip: To remove a resource from a project, on the View tab, choose Resource Sheet. Select the resource, and then press the DELETE key.

Entry Type Calculated. Description The Resource ID field contains the identifier number that Project assigns to each resource. The Resource ID indicates the position of the resource in relation to other resources.

You can modify leveling to help you fine-tune how Project determines which tasks are leveled, and to what extent. On the Resources tab, in the Level group, choose Leveling Options. In the Resource Leveling dialog box, under Leveling calculations, select how you want leveling to occur.

Sometimes it takes one resource to complete a task, but other times you need more. Sometimes a resource can only work part time. To account for these differences, Microsoft Project uses units to calculate the exact amount of time resources can work on a task.

The Resource Name field shows all resource names in the task row, along with assignment units (if not 100 percent), for everyone who is assigned to the task. This field is available only in the Task Usage view.
