Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You install the November 2011 cumulative update for Microsoft Lync 2010 or a later cumulative update.

  • A delegate is assigned a conferencing policy that prevents the delegate from using the desktop sharing and data collaboration features. However, you are assigned a conferencing policy that does not prevent you from using these features.

  • The delegate schedules a private online meeting on your behalf.

  • You join the online meeting by using Lync 2010.

In this scenario, the desktop sharing feature and other collaboration features do not work in the meeting.

This issue occurs because the FilterConferenceModesBasedOnPolicy function does not apply the correct policy to the meeting when the function filters the conference mode that is based on the conferencing policy.
