How to share/export a Desktop flow

Symptom

If you want to share a Desktop flow with another user, then consider the following three (3) options:

  1. Directly share the Desktop flow through the Power Automate Portal

  2. Export a Solution that contains the Desktop flow

  3. Copy the PAD Actions and paste them in a text editor

How-to

Option 1 - Sharing

You can share a Desktop flow with other users in your organization, giving those users specific permissions to access your flow. For more information, refer to the following article:

Share and manage desktop flows - Power Automate | Microsoft Docs

Option 2 - Solutions

You can host your Desktop flow in a solution, to make it portable and move it from one environment to another. Refer to the following article for more information on how to import a flow into a Solution or build a solution-aware flow, and then export the Solution from one environment and import it to another:

Option 3 - Copy/Paste

Edit your Desktop flow through the PAD Designer and then copy the Actions within a Subflow (Ctrl+C) and paste them to a text editor (Ctrl+V). This will copy the Actions along with their corresponding UI elements/images. Finally, save and share that text file with other users in your organization.

Note that only one Subflow can be copied at a time, so if you have more than one Subflow, then you would need to repeat the above procedure for each one of the Subflows and save the Actions into separate text files.
