Summary

This article describes a known issue when printing a document that contains embedded .jpg files.

More Information

When editing a document using a Windows application with RichEditControl, you may try imbedding a .jpg image into the document and set the image to Display as Icon. You then, try to print the document and notice that the image is not displayed as an icon and that the font associated with the image is very small. This is a known issue with RichEditControl and how it is being implemented in MSFTEDIT.DLL. Currently, there is no fix for this issue and no available workaround.

  • This problem is noticed only in Windows 7 and the same scenario may work fine in other Windows operating systems.
