Students: export a copy of your work from OneNote, Class Notebook, Teams, and OneDrive

Save a copy of your school notes to your OneNote notebook

As a student with a Microsoft 365 account, your work in OneNote is stored in OneDrive. This enables you to save a personal copy of your notes and reference them in the future.

Get started

  1. Make sure that you have a personal Microsoft account. If you don’t have an account, you can create one at https://signup.live.com/signup.

Important:  If your account ends in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, or @live.com, then you have a personal Microsoft account.

  2. Sign in to OneNote with both your school and personal accounts.  Instructions for how to sign in to multiple accounts on OneNote can be found here

  3. Create a new notebook using your personal account. This new notebook is where you'll save a personal copy of the work from your school account. Instructions for how to create a new OneNote notebook using a specific account can be found here.
