Applies ToFixed Assets

This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX for all regions.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012:

  • You create a fixed asset by using a value model and a derived value model in Company A.

  • You create an invoice journal in Company B for the fixed asset acquisition.

  • You set the Offset company accounts box value to Company A and the Offset account box value to the fixed asset in the invoice.

  • You post the invoice in Company B.

In this scenario, the net book value and the acquisition price for the derived value model are negative in Company A unexpectedly.

Cause

This problem occurs because the sign of the acquisition amount is converted to negative even though the amount is already positive when you post the invoice journal.
