Some Lync 2013 for iPhone/iPad features are missing in Skype for Business for iOS

Summary

The following features that are currently available in Microsoft Lync 2013 for iPhone and Microsoft Lync 2013 for iPad are not available in the initial release of the Skype for Business for iOS client.

Contacts screen

  • Search your contacts from the Contacts screen. This feature is also available on the Dashboard screen (on which recent conversations and upcoming meetings are displayed).
  • Search for distribution groups.
  • Send an IM to all members of a group.
  • Use Group contact cards.
  • Add or remove contacts from the Contacts list.
    • The ability to add or remove contacts from the Contacts list is available in version 6.2.3. Users can download the latest version of Skype for Business for iOS at Skype for Business is now on iOS.

Chat screen

  • Send the chat transcript as an email message.
  • Access a participant's Contact Card from the Participant list.

Meetings List screen

  • Visually identify meetings that are currently in the Tentative acceptance state.
  • Access the meeting organizer's Contact Card from the Meeting detail view.
    • The ability to access the meeting organizer's Contact Card from the Meeting detail view is available in version 6.4. Users can download the latest version of Skype for Business for iOS at Skype for Business is now on iOS.

Voice Mail screen

  • Delete a voice mail message.

    • The ability to delete a voice mail message is available in version 6.2.3. Users can download the latest version of Skype for Business for iOS at Skype for Business is now on iOS.

  • Use quick options to return a call and navigate to the Contact Card from a voice mail message.

    • The ability to return a call from a voice mail message is available in version 6.2.3. Users can download the latest version of Skype for Business for iOS at Skype for Business is now on iOS.

  • Use Accessibility features.

  • Use Speed Controls for faster and slower voice mail playback.

In-call screens

  • Use Call Transfer.

    • Use Call Transfer options are available in version 6.1. Users can download the latest version of Skype for Business for iOS at Skype for Business is now on iOS.

  • View Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. However, app-sharing and screen-sharing (including for PowerPoint presentations) are still fully functional.

    • The ability to view Microsoft PowerPoint presentations is available with version 6.2.4. Users can download the latest version of Skype for Business for iOS at the following website: Skype for Business is now on iOS.

  • View multi-party video when you're connected to a meeting.
