ApplyResourceCapacityTimeRangeJob is not running

Symptoms

In Project Web Access you are missing the Capacity data in you OLAP Cube for reporting. The scheduled Resource Capacity Sync job is scheduled to run every day at 1:00AM and appears to have run successfully.

In the Job Status list in the SharePoint Central Administration, the job status is succeeded with the correct date and time. However there is no Reporting (Resource Capacity Sync) job in the Project Server queue

In the ProjectServer_Reporting. MSP_EpmResourcebyday table, Capacity is missing.

Cause

A timer job for Resource Capacity Synchronization that runs every day at 1:00AM has stopped running. The issue occurs if an I/O error occurs when the job is evoked.

In the ULS logs, you find the I/O error message :

Scheduled timer job Project Server 'SSP_PSI:http://myserver/PWA' job 'ApplyResourceCapacityTimeRangeJob', id {817D8356-5ED4-4C54-83EF-DBC2F77ED13A} at 09 mars 2011 10:25:00 +0100 (now is 08 mars 2011 10:25:00 +0100)

Resolution

To fix the error message, you have to use STSADM command to delete the job:

C:\>stsadm -o deleteconfigurationobject -id <job_id>

Then, you must schedule a new job on your instance.
When the time is reached, the job is created in the Project Server queue and in the Job definitions list in WSS.

Then, you can check the result on Resource Capacity by executing the following SQL query againt Reporting database:

select min(timebyday) as 'MIN', max(timebyday) as 'MAX' from msp_epmresourcebyday
