- Office Communications Server (OCS) is hosted on-premises.
- OCS-enabled users are also enabled for Microsoft Exchange Online services.
Exchange Online services use the Windows OrgID authentication service. This service provides Exchange Online users with a single sign-on (SSO) method for secure access to their Exchange Online services. However, the OC client is incompatible with the Windows OrgID token-based authentication service. During the initial sign in, the OC client prompts for the user's SSO credentials. These credentials are needed to access the Exchange Online service. Any additional prompts for credentials by the OC client are used for access to the user's out-of-office messages and calendar information.
