· Windows Server 2008 R2 configured with Hyper-V and Failover Clustering.
· Failover Cluster is hosting one or more highly available virtual machines.
· A formatted disk, with or without a drive letter, is added to the Failover Cluster as available storage.
· This disk is then hot-added to the highly available virtual machine under the SCSI Controller as a pass-through disk.
When hot-adding a formatted disk to a highly available virtual machine, a dialog box with the following message may be displayed in the virtual machine.
“Do you want to scan and fix <volume name> (drive letter)?”
If the formatted disk is hot-added as a pass-through disk with a drive letter already assigned, then the dialog will be presented as soon as the disk is detected in the virtual machine. Otherwise, the dialog will be presented when a drive letter is assigned within the virtual machine.
