FIX: Visual C++ based projects take longer to compile after you install Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1


Consider the following scenario. You install Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1). You try to compile a Microsoft Visual C++ based project. In this scenario, it may take longer to compile the project. Additionally, the handle count for the Mspdbsrv.exe process continues to increase in Windows Task Manager.


Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
