Symptoms

In a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009 environment, you start the Transaction Integrator (TI) Manager MMC snap-in, and the MMC snap-in may close unexpectedly. This behavior occurs when Type Library (TLB) or .NET assembly files that the Transaction Integrator objects reference are not located in the correct folders on the system. When the TI Manager MMC snap-in closes, you receive an MMC access violation error message that resembles the following:

Cause

This problem occurs because Transaction Integrator does not verify that the TLB or .NET assembly files exist when the TI Manager MMC snap-in opens and tries to initialize the files.

Resolution

The hotfix that resolves this issue is included in cumulative update package 2 for Host Integration Server 2009.

Workaround

To work around this problem, copy the missing TLB or .NET assembly files to the correct folder that the the TI objects reference.
