The depreciation basis for the fixed asset depreciation is calculated incorrectly for the current period in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 for all countries.

Symptoms

When straight line life remaining depreciation for a fixed asset is used in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, the depreciation basis for the depreciation of the fixed asset may incorrectly be calculated for the current period.

For example, a write-up adjustment, a write-down adjustment, or some other adjustment is made. This adjustment has a recorded date that is earlier than the depreciation basis date. When the depreciation basis for the fixed asset depreciation is calculated for the current period, the adjustment is not included.
