Timeout error when processing a file in ERM


You receive the following error on the Event Log tab in Account Administration in the Microsoft Prodiance Enterprise Risk Manager (ERM) web portal:

Unexpected error processing audit trail entries:\n\nError adding audit trail entries to database: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.


The workbook is large or complex, or there are many changes compared to the previous version. This causes the processing to take a long time.


To resolve the error, follow these steps:

1.  Open the Prodiance Service Manager or FireDaemon.

2. Right-click the Spreadsheet Processor and select Edit .

3. On the General tab, in the Parameters field, increase the value for the parameter /proctimeoutmins and then click OK. This value limits the number of minutes the Spreadsheet Processor has to try to process the file before throwing the time-out error and moving on to the next file.
