There's a lot you can do to help the battery on your Windows phone last longer between charges, but the easiest thing is to use battery saver. When battery saver is on, your phone temporarily turns off some things that use a lot of power—for instance, automatic email and calendar syncing, live tile updates, and apps that you aren’t actively using.

Set battery saver to turn on automatically whenever your battery gets too low. If you know in advance that you're going to need to make every bit count, turn it on proactively to make sure your battery lasts as long as possible.

To use battery saver

  1. On Start

    Start symbol
, swipe over to the All apps list, and then select Settings > System > Battery .

  2. Do one or both of the following:

    • If you want battery saver to turn on whenever the battery falls below a certain level, select Turn battery saver on automatically if my battery falls below, and set it where you’d like.

    • If you want to turn on battery saver now and leave it on until the next time you plug in your device, turn on Battery saver status until next charge.
