File informationThe English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

Hotfix installation informationAfter you apply this hotfix, you must delete the softwaredistribution folder to enable the hotfix. To delete the softwaredistribution folder, type the following commands at a command prompt. Press ENTER after each command.
- %windir%\system32\net.exe stop wuauserv
- cd /d %windir%
- rd /s softwaredistribution
- cd system32
- regsvr32 wuapi.dll
- regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
- regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
- regsvr32 wucltui.dll
- regsvr32 wups.dll
- net.exe start wuauserv
To work around this problem, change the value of the lmcompatibilitylevel registry entry to 0 or to 1. To do this, follow these steps.
Note The default value of this registry entry is 2 or a greater value.
- Click Start, click Run, type Regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
- In the details pane, double-click the lmcompatibilitylevel registry entry.
- In the Value data box, type 1 or 0, depending on your environment. Then, click OK.
- Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
