INTRODUCTION

Microsoft has released an update for Microsoft Office 2010. This update provides the latest fixes to the Microsoft Office 2010 Click-to-Run deployment mechanism. Additionally, this update allows antivirus and anti-malware scans of virtualized Microsoft Office 2010.

To determine the version of the files that are installed on the computer, follow these steps, as appropriate for the operating system that you are running.

Windows 7

  1. Click Start, and then click
    Computer.

  2. In the Search Computer box, typeCvh.dll, and then press ENTER.

  3. Right-click Cvh.dll, and then click
    Properties.

  4. On the General tab, note the properties of the Cvh.dll file that is installed on the computer.

Windows Vista

  1. Click Start Start Button , and then click Search.

  2. Click Advanced Search.

  3. In the Location box, click Local Hard Drives.

  4. In the Name box, type
    Cvh.dll, and then click
    Search.

  5. In the list of files, right-click
    Cvh.dll, and then click
    Properties.

  6. On the General tab, note the properties of the Cvh.dll file that is installed on the computer.

Windows XP

  1. Start Search Companion. To do this, click
    Start, and then click Search.

    Note If Windows Desktop Search starts, click Click here to use Search Companion.

  2. In the Search Results window, click All files and folders in the Search Companion pane.

  3. In the All or part of the file name box, type Cvh.dll, and then click
    Search.

  4. In the list of files, right-click
    Cvh.dll, and then click
    Properties.

  5. On the General tab and on the
    Version tab, note the properties of the Cvh.dll file that is installed on the computer.

How to uninstall this update

  1. Click Start, and then click
    Run.

  2. Type appwiz.cpl, and then click
    OK.

  3. Use one of the following procedures, depending on the operating system that you are running:

    • Windows 7 and Windows Vista

      1. Click View installed updates.

      2. In the list of updates, locate and click update 2077208, and then click Uninstall.

    • Windows XP

      1. Click to select the Show updates
        check box.

      2. In the list of updates, locate and click update 2077208, and then click Remove.

How to troubleshoot the issues when you install this upudate


You may also encounter the following issues when you try to install this update:

  • The update installation fails.

  • The system keeps reminding you to install this update although you already installed it.

  • The desktop does not load.

If you encounter one if the issues mentioned above, you may try the following methods.

Method 1: Reset Windows Update components and then try updating your computer


To reset the Windows Update components automatically, click the
Fix itbutton or link. Click
Runin the
File Downloaddialog box, and then follow the steps in the Fix it wizard.

Note this Fix it Solution has two modes Default and Aggressive. You should run the Fix it solution in Default mode and determine whether it resolves your problem with Windows Update before you ru it in Aggressive mode.





Note this wizard may be in English only; however, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.

Note if you are not on the computer that has the problem, save the Fix it solution to a flash drive or a CD and then run it on the computer that has the problem.

Method 2: Manually download the update from the download link and then install it in clean boot mode

We suggest you to install the updates in clean boot mode to avoid the interruption of non-Microsoft programs. To enter clean boot mode on a computer, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

  2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or click Continue.

  3. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.

  4. Under Selective Startup, clear the Load Startup Items check box.

  5. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.

  6. Click OK.

  7. When you are prompted, click Restart.

  8. Try update your computer again.
